THE PROCESS
Pinoy Relief's Board and grant making staff will evaluate the various strengths of grantee programs applying for funds as well as develop initiatives to address the needs of individuals and communities affected by Typhoon Haiyan consistent with our priorities. The evaluation process will include visits to the organization, interviews with program directors/staff, evaluation of effectiveness of prior programs, and review of financial information.

There are 3 stages to disaster management:

Focus of Pinoy Relief

Across the most impacted regions, government and humanitarian organizations are providing emergency relief, including distribution of food, supplies for emergency shelter and, in many areas, direct cash transfer. To address the most critical unmet needs, Pinoy Relief will focus on three key components of the Recovery phase (livelihoods, semi-permanent classrooms and shelter) each of which provides families with critical tools for self-recovery.

We selected these areas based on several considerations:
